Prince Harry Agrees To Settle Snooping Lawsuit Against Rupert Murdoch
Prince Harry has agreed to settle his lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers (NGN) over allegations of phone hacking and snooping. Furthermore, Prince Harry has claimed that the hacking had caused him significant distress and anxiety.
As part of the settlement, NGN has issued an "unequivocal apology" and pledged to pay "significant damages" to the Duke of Sussex, stated David Sherborne, Harry’s lawyer.
The lawsuit was set to be the first trial against NGN since the 2011 phone hacking scandal that resulted in the closure of News of the World.
The group also apologized for the distress caused by its actions on Harry's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, particularly during her son's younger years.
